Dio parla al suo popolo attraverso la voce del suo Spirito: \u201cQuando andrete a destra o quando andrete a sinistra, le tue orecchie udranno dietro a te una parola che dir\u00e0: \u00abQuesta \u00e8<\/em> la via; camminate in essa!\u00bb\u201d (Isaia 30:21).<\/em><\/p>\n

La voce del suo Spirito ci giunge principalmente attraverso le Scritture. Egli pu\u00f2 aprire un passo biblico che sar\u00e0 la chiave per la nostra liberazione. Tuttavia, prima che possiamo sentire la sua voce che ci guida, Dio richiede qualcosa da noi. Dobbiamo stare fermi e aspettare che lui agisca. Questa parola non \u00e8 un suggerimento, ma un comandamento. \u00c8 il segreto della nostra vittoria e liberazione totale. In effetti, il Signore ha comandato al suo popolo di stare fermi in molte occasioni.<\/p>\n

In Giosu\u00e8 3, leggiamo di un altro attraversamento che Israele dovette fare al fiume Giordano. Dio istru\u00ec il popolo: \u201cTu perci\u00f2 da\u2019 quest\u2019ordine ai sacerdoti che portano l\u2019arca del patto, dicendo: \u00abQuando sarete giunti ai margini delle acque del Giordano, vi fermerete nel Giordano\u00bb\u201d (Giosu\u00e8 3:8). <\/em>Poi il Signore aggiunse: \u201cE avverr\u00e0 che, non appena le piante dei piedi dei sacerdoti che portano l\u2019arca dell\u2019Eterno, il Signore di tutta la terra, si poseranno nelle acque del Giordano, le acque del Giordano saranno divise, e<\/em> \u2026 si fermeranno in un mucchio\u00bb\u201d (Giosu\u00e8 3:13).<\/em><\/p>\n

Dio disse: \u201cQuando arrivi all\u2019acqua, pianta i tuoi piedi in essa e resta l\u00ec. Stai fermo, riposati. Aspetta solo che io agisca, e io divider\u00f2 le acque per te!\u201d<\/p>\n

Le parole ebraiche per stare fermi in questo brano significano \u201cfermare ogni attivit\u00e0, cessare ogni sforzo\u201d. Quanti Israeliti obbedirono quando giunsero al Giordano? Mentre stavano con i piedi nell\u2019acqua, molti devono aver pensato: \u201cCome facciamo a sapere che funzioner\u00e0?\u201d Alcuni potrebbero essere stati tentati di costruire una specie di ponte galleggiante per cercare di attraversare con la propria ingegnosit\u00e0, ma sarebbe stato vano.<\/p>\n
